Liliana Ojeda shares with us a text and an image for Advent meditation

Liliana Ojeda, writer and visual artist from CVX in Austria, shares with us a text and an image for Advent meditation.

Why?

Whether Syria or Venezuela,

whether a war or a dictatorship.

It is about fleeing from horror,

fleeing as the only way out,

throwing oneself into the unknown.

And now? Anchored somewhere,

all hopes destroyed.

Misery with another face.

Hunger, cold, rejection.

Who is to blame?

Perhaps we have simply forgotten something very simple:

“Love one another,”

said someone called Jesus.

And if human beings were to live this out,

the world would be very different.

Wouldn’t it?

Translated by the author from her book “Hoffnung zwischen Angst und Zuversicht (Hope between Fear and Confidence).”
