CLC in Korea successfully concluded its Annual Retreat for Committed Members and World CLC Day celebrations, held from March 20 to 29, 2026. Rooted in Ignatian spirituality, the gathering served as a meaningful occasion to experience the joy of living as a CLC community through prayer and sharing.

Annual Retreat: A Time of ‘Gratitude and Grace’

The Annual Retreat for Committed Members took place from March 20 to 28. In silence and prayer, members reflected on the past year and responded to God’s invitation to live as an apostolic community. It was a time of grace to contemplate one’s life within God’s love and to renew a sense of hope as individuals sent forth into the world.

World CLC Day: Experiencing Community Joy and Unity

World CLC Day was celebrated from March 28 to 29 with the participation of 90 committed members and Fr. Isidore An, EA. A variety of programs were held under the theme, “God’s Family and the Joy of Love”.

The event kicked off with the Festival of Joy featuring 5-minute performances by seven regional communities. Each group expressed the gratitude and joy they felt while living out their CLC identity, showcasing their unique regional character through moving and creative stages. Following the performances, participants watched a film together to reflect on the values of solidarity, hospitality, and hope found within the community.

On the second day, members engaged in group sharing on the theme, “God’s Family: The Joy of Living with a CLC Identity.” They shared experiences of God’s presence and warmth within the community and reflected deeply on how to share that joy with the world. This was followed by presentation from each group, the offering of plates containing their reflections, and a joint recitation of the Declaration of Mission, revealing the community’s shared sense of being sent forth.

Affirming the Lay Vocation within the Community

The celebration concluded with a Mass for the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, celebrated by Fr. Isidore An. In place of the homily, President Tryphena Koh offered a reflection on Mary’s response and cooperation, emphasizing the vital importance of human participation and collaboration in God’s history of salvation.

Through this event, CLC in Korea provided members with an opportunity to reflect on their personal transformations and experience a renewed sense of gratitude and unity. Moving forward, the community strives to continue living out its lay vocation by sharing this joy with the world.

Declaration of Mission

Today, we look back on the past we have lived as CLC
and choose once more our future we will live as CLC.

We respond to the voice of God,
who calls us to follow truth rather than comfort,
and our calling rather than security.

We shall live as lay people, not alone,
but as an accompanying community,
assisting in God’s work in the world.

Now, we leave this place
to be sent out into our respective lives.

With joy, in freedom,
and until the very end, we will live as CLC.
