{"id":15863,"date":"2025-10-28T18:11:26","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T16:11:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cvx-clc.net\/?p=15863"},"modified":"2025-10-28T18:15:32","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T16:15:32","slug":"dilexi-te-reaffirms-our-clc-charism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cvx-clc.net\/en\/dilexi-te-reaffirms-our-clc-charism\/","title":{"rendered":"Dilexi te Reaffirms Our CLC Charism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Elena Yeyati<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Currently, as we review our <a href=\"https:\/\/cvx-clc.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/GP-2018-Sp.pdf\">General Principles<\/a> and our guidelines on the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Persons, reading and praying with the new Apostolic Exhortation Dilexi te by Pope Leo XIV fills our hearts with joy.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It invites us to reaffirm the essence of being Christian in light of today\u2019s realities and in the context of our apostolic frontiers and mission priorities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/leo-xiv\/es\/apost_exhortations\/documents\/20251004-dilexi-te.html\">The text highlights the centrality of the poor.<\/a> <i>Dilexi te <\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> journeys through the Bible, the history of the Church, and Church\u2019s Social Doctrine to recognize and remind us of the privileged place that every kind of excluded person holds in society. One cannot be truly Christian without placing them at the center; this is what should shape our faith and define our way of life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This \u201cpreference\u201d never indicates exclusivity or discrimination towards other groups, which would be impossible for God. It is meant to emphasize God\u2019s actions, which are moved by compassion toward the poverty and weakness of all humanity. Wanting to inaugurate a kingdom of justice, fraternity and solidarity, God has a special place in his heart for those who are discriminated against and oppressed, and he asks us, his Church, to make a decisive and radical choice in favor of the weakest.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DT,16)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We are called to recognize each of them as subjects capable of creating their own culture, rather than as objects of charity on the part of others<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. (DT 100). <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Christian can regard the poor simply as a societal problem; they are part of our \u201cfamily.\u201d They are \u201cone of us.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DT 104)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Apostolic Exhortation reminds us that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Christian love breaks down every barrier, brings close those who were distant, unites strangers, and reconciles enemies\u2026 Love is above all a way of looking at life and a way of living it.
