We are Love and Hope, with this slogan the Christian Life Community in the Dominican Republic (CVX-RD), the lay arm of Ignatian spirituality in the country, have launched their call to celebrate their XXII Ordinary General Assembly and Annual Meeting of Communities. The meeting will take place virtually on April 5 and in person on April 6 in Manresa-Altagracia, the usual headquarters of the organization. The methodology to be implemented is that of spiritual conversation and the space will serve as a platform to deepen the challenges of CLC-DR.
The goal of the Assembly is for its members to seek and find the way or means by which God wants us to best serve Him and to be where the Lord calls us and how He wants us to be. The logo for the XXII Annual Assembly and the Gathering for the Associated Communities reflects the Love and Hope that identifies our charism as CLC members.
In the center of the design, there are two joined hands looking up to heaven, the relationship that St. Ignatius of Loyola established with God, but also the union and solidarity among the members of the Christian Life Community. This union represents the commitment and mutual support in the journey of the Ignatian mission. The open flower held by joined hands is a sign of the openness of heart that inspires our “being and doing”. This assembly seeks to recognize God’s will for the community here and now.
Another of the elements that stand out are the two doves that reflect our charism has a mystery as the main referent of Christ: the Incarnation and this as the paradigm of our mission. This vocation is given to us by Christ himself and is manifested in the convocation to our Assembly: To live in community. The window where all the elements of art are grouped together is a synodal sign. Fr. Benjamin, S.J. told CLC during a retreat that “what is really important is to dispose ourselves to the gift” and it is in this spirit that its members are preparing to live this Assembly.
